We Don’t (Mostly) Suck

It’s so easy to be consumed by the doomscape.

Priced out of all the things, and starting an Only Fans sounds like a better and better plan each day (DadBodDude2112…cha-CHING!)

Lied to by our information sources, and we can pretty much make up our own facts now (the moon really is made of cheese by the way, because I said so)

The scramble to win the award for World’s Angriest Victim.

Some are apparently in a race to return to 1692 the fastest.

Our systems are trash, our climate is approaching dumpster fire status, our leadership sucks, and we’re about one bad week away from “hmmm…Squid Game isn’t that bad an idea?”

So, what’s the point again?

Look, there’s a lot of toxic sludge out there, and to ignore the above would range from naïve denial to straight-up fraud.

That said, we don’t all suck.

Okay, we’re human and have moments where we kind of suck, but most of us most days don’t suck.

There is so much good that doesn’t get the attention it deserves.

A slew of kids in a generation with some promise just graduated from high school or college the last few weeks.

Bold badass people still out there seeking to build their dreams and make their big ideas take flight.

Fighters beating cancer and health struggles of all kinds

Heroes still focused on how to be of help using their skills and passions.

Folks working tirelessly to do something about the crap I mentioned above, and some other crap I missed.

There are many doing all they can to make today a little better than yesterday for someone.

Beauty, nature and man-made out there bringing joy, peace, hope, and wonder.

Creatives making magic with their hands and hearts to be consumed by our senses.

Even now. There. Is. So. Much. Good. Out. There.

Look for it, sometimes we have to squint and strain through the fog to find it but it’s still there.

There’s also the option of going out and making some-or even staying in and making some.

There’s much we cannot control, and yet it’s still possible to create a world (even if it’s really small and only includes ourselves) that thrives despite the crap.

It doesn’t all suck.
